Christmassy Covent Garden & Harrods

So last weekend I went to London with my dad and my brother. We went to Covent Garden, Otherwise known as my favourite place so far in London, and we also went to Harrods very briefly just to have a look around at all the Christmassy stuff. :)

I actually love going on the train. I know if you have to do it all the time it would get really boring, but for me it's just once in a while so I find it quite fun (I know your all now thinking that I'm a weirdo but let's just deal with it). Any way I persuaded my Dad to get the slightly earlier train so that we were there quicker and in the end it worked out great, as it was apparently one of the busiest weekends to be in London. I just wore some jeans, a jumper, my parka and some snuggly boots because it is starting to get a lot colder and I am always cold so I thought it would be best to be cosy.

Selfie time... just for anyone wondering for makeup I have on Soap and Glory supercat eyeliner, Benefit they're real mascara and a slick of Laura Mercier lip gloss in shade- I'm to lazy to get up and find my lip gloss, sorryyy. When we arrived at Paddington we hopped on the tube and went to Covent garden. I wish I managed to get a picture now but there was loads of people (uni/college students, I think) dressed up as Santa running around London. They were every where: On the tube (singing), In Tesco when I went to buy some water and all over the streets! It was quite funny and very festive to watch.

On to Covent garden... I always have loved Covent garden ever since my first trip there. It is especially amazing at Christmas. Half of the reason of going to London was to look at Christmassy things, and the other half was to get Christmas presents. So after choosing my present from Dad from M.A.C and Lush, I went to help my Dad get my grandma a present from The Body Shop. I won't say exactly what it was, just on the off chance she sees this, but I will say that the lady that helped us was so, so lovely.

There is always something going on in Covent garden and in the centre of it all is the big tree. It is enormous but somehow still manages to look really cute. All the decorations are really
cute and tasteful. I have lost the picture, but they also had giant red baubles suspended in the air over the restaurants which was so cool. I couldn't help thinking what would happen if they fell though...

Can you see my lush bag. Henry (my brother) and I got a bit hungry so Dad got us a cute gingerbread tree and he got himself some mulled wine from the stall in the third photo. Things like ginger bread and mulled wine just smell like Christmas.
sorry about my dads head ;)
We then quickly got the tube to Harrods because I hate to admit it but I had only been in once before. It was chaos.
We could barely move it was so busy so although it was lovely in there and really Christmassy. So we went in grabbed some little snacks from the food hall and popped straight out the other side. I can't deal with feeling trapped in by people or small spaces it makes me really scared and anxious so I was quite glad to leave. I got a cheesy Focaccia bread type thing and it was Incredible. It kind of made me laugh that when we paid they asked us if we had a Harrods card :).

Omg, handbags, I managed to pass them, by telling myself that one day they will be mine. We also went to an old fashioned sweet shop and I got some orange sherbets and pear drops, my favourite.

So I hoped you liked having a little look into my weekend. Where's your favourite place in London?

Clothes Show Live 2013

On Saturday I went to the Clothes Show in Birmingham. It was amazing and I can't believe that I hadn't found myself there already! I bought loads and loads and would like to do a haul, maybe in a few parts? The only problem is the light is really bad at the moment so taking pictures is really hard as it's dark in the morning when I go out and dark again by the time I come back :( but hopefully soon the pictures will get taken and then you can have a look at all the bits and pieces I picked up.

I would say the fashion show was the best part. It was 40 minutes long with dancers and models. Don't get me wrong I could shop for England it's just that the clothes were not great at all! A bit funny considering its the CLOTHES show. It just all seemed market-ish. There were stalls after stalls selling the same stuff and it didn't look great quality either. There was the odd gem though. I would say the beauty hall was amazing, there were some great deals and that was where most of my money went. Anyway back to the fashion show. The first section was a sort of English countryside with an edge. The pieces were quite tailored and there were a lot of tweed type materials and jumpers with big coats over the top.

As my Christmas present from my lovely Auntie she got me a premium ticket, this meant we had amazing seats, close to the front. The bottom right picture is the section of the show that was sort of monochrome casual clothes, there were a lot of t-shirts with the big numbers on, which is something that is around a lot in shops at the moment. Another thing that was quite common was man crop tops, not too sure if that one will catch on ;) There were also some very nice male models... The show was really amazing to watch and the music and dance made it really engaging.

Some of the best bits in the show for me were the swimwear section (bottom right) and the zumba class dance (top right). In the zumba they did this amazing dance and omg the lead dancer was incredible and the section ended up with him in the splits eeek!! The swimming part was great as well The lighting was blue and the dancers did all these lifts to make it look like they were swimming. There was one bit (bottom right) were they lifted this girl up and passed her along so it looked like she was doing backstroke.

My favourite section was by far the gold clothing, which is a surprise as I'm not a massive fan of OTT clothes, but I just thought they were extremely beautiful. My favourite piece out of the whole show was the sequin glittery gold dress (top left), A beautiful blonde model wore it and it looked incredible. It was gold sparkles all over with long sleeves and a deep v neckline, it was floor length but had a slit down the leg. There was also a section with LBD's a lot of the black clothes had silky textures.

Over all it was an amazing experience and I would definitely go again. Have you ever been to the Clothes Show, what did you think?

I'm loving... Alt-j

Recently I have been loving listening to music all the time!
In particular Alt-j, now if you are have a similar taste in music to me (apparently its called alternative..) you may have heard of them but not many people that I know, know them although I thought people  should know them.

image credit to we heart it
I think they have only ever released one album called "an awesome wave" but all the tracks are amazing. The album is £4.99 for 14 tracks on I tunes and there is also a deluxe version for £9.99 with 44 tracks!!! My particular favourites are breeze blocks, something good and Leon. The vocals are really great and a bit different, the music is different but I really like it. There is no strong drum beats to the songs because apparently they had to practice when they lived at uni so they had to keep the noise down meaning that the music has a nice twist.

I would also recommend checking out the video for Breezeblocks and then watching it in reverse as it is so clever! Fun fact- Alt-J are also known as a triangle shape as on a Apple mac OS X pressing alt and then j makes a triangle.

Have you ever heard of Alt-J, or do you love them like me, either way I would check them out.

Little christmas lush haul!

Helloooo! I know I have been a crap blogger and went against literally everything I said in my last blog post, so for that I am very sorry. On with the post... Now I went to lush, this is a regular occurrence so I have to force myself to buy just a few things each time so that I don't end up with no money what so ever, because I'm telling you it would happen! I just think they are all so nice in there, everything is so pretty and amazing. I just get a little carried away. I might do a little series of lush hauls so here we go with No.1.

I got two things from the Christmas range, bombardino and candy mountain but before I get onto that if you have not been into a lush at Christmas time yet you must run to the nearest one now! They have the cutest products, amazing gift sets and the soaps are incredible, In my opinion angels delight is the best, it is a giant circular soap with a large moon and bright pink colours on the other half. You have to see it to believe it but it really is amazing! In my local lush they have already bought in the Christmas packets which are a lot more colourful compared to the black or yellow usual ones. They also have a two/from on the back, this will be great for little Christmas presents for friends or family.

On to the first thing I got, the Bombardino bath bomb. I was drawn to this because it looks like a really sweet little creature thing, To me this smells slightly lemony and I find it to be quite a soft creamy scent. Lush says "Sit back and relax in a bath of creamy Alpine indulgence. With skin-softening cocoa butter and uplifting Sicilian lemon oil." I can not wait to try this as reviews say it is really softening and relaxing. This little guy retails for £2.50, about in the middle of the bath bomb price range.
My second item In this little haul Is Candy mountain, and yes unicorns do come to mind (that video is so annoying and I'm truly sorry if you actually clicked the link and watched it.). This is a bubble bar that costs £2.65, not bad for this incredibly sparkly sweet scented delight. Basically this has the exact same scent as the famous snow fairy shower gel, so if you like that you will love this too! I love any thing sparkly, I also love the shape this is I think this is a bit different to the other bubble bars.

Bubble bars are my favourite, I much prefer them to bath bombs although both are fab. In case you don't know with a bubble bar you take a bit and crumble it under running water, mountains of fluffy scented bubbles appear that last the whole bath. Bubble bars are also great as they can be cut up and used multiple times, I will probably use this about 2-3 times. Lush says "The fair trade vanilla absolute, sparkling snowflake lustre and creamy corn flour in Candy Mountain make bath time a sweet treat for big kids as well as little kids. We’ve included some of our bubble crumble mix which adds a magical pink mist to the peaks of foaming bubbles." I basically think this is fab.

So there goes my first lush haul, the first of many I'm sure! What is your favourite Christmas lush product! A little secret for you: I already have more lush things lined up to review so wait around for that soon.

Shopping And Lazy Day.

Sooo I am currently sat in a panda onesie. Firstly I would like to say sorry because I know I have been missing a bit recently, I just haven't had the time to do to many posts but I have decided that I will try to do at least two posts a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. Now with that over, on with the post...

don't you think my bag is jazzy.
Today I thought I would do a little day in the life type post. So today I WENT SHOPPING, this might not seem a big deal to you but it is to me! I have been saving up for the clothes show and so have not been into town for what seems like years. So today my mum treated me to some stuff. First on my list was some new pj's and I have been yet to join the onesie crew but I am now officially a member. I own a big fluffy panda onsie, and I feel like I might spend the rest of my life in it! Then a coat was next and I was after one thing, a parka. You may have seen them everywhere recently but one of these has been on my list since this time last year. After a little search I found the perfect one in new look so OOTD coming soon, I also spied some tan brogues so they are also now mine ;)

After my shopping success (Thank you mum xxx) We came back home and had a laze around, In our onsies of course and watched one of my favourite films chalet girl.
So that was my day, how was yours, OOTD or review maybe tomorrow.

September favourites

I know that September has been and gone but I think it's still not too late to share my favourites this month.

My first favourite is "a great kisser" lip balm in juicy peach. I mean how can you not like this, look how cute the packaging is and the peach scent is to die for. This just gives a subtle glossy finish to your lips with added hydration. I really love this and it's a cute alternative to my usual carmex. A slight warning though is that it becomes quite addictive and you will end up putting it on every five minutes, yes Georgia I'm looking at you ;).

This month I have loved wearing my Mac lipstick in Girl about town. If I could wear this everyday I would, It is a bright blue toned medium fuchsia colour and has a amplified crème finish making it quite creamy and very opaque. I have found that it is also very long lasting. If you want to go for matching lips and nails Essie nail varnish in big spender is the perfect match. It is one of my favourite bright colours that still looks fab as we go into A/W.
This photo has washed out girl about town it is more like the big spender swatch when on the lips!

Putting a deodorant in my favourites may seem a odd choice but it has been a favourite and no one wants to smell, sooo I thought that I would put it in anyway. The spot gel has really been essential this month due to a bit of a breakout on my forehead. I use this morning and night after cleansing and although it occasionally stings slightly I find that it really does work on fighting the spots. It also works well on my slightly sensitive skin.

Soap and glory is one of my all time favourite brands and it defiantly knows how to make shower gels, My all time favourite is Sugar Crush but I have really enjoyed this one it has a very fruity scent and foams up really well (as its name suggests) Also they come in a massive bottle so it lasts forever, as usual the packaging is just the cutest.
My final favourite is my Label.m sea salt spray (review sooon?!). This will always be a favourite, I use it every day and have done for a couple of years now. It gives a softly textured look, adds volume and just generally gives fluffy or flat hair a  bed head tousled look.

I'm glad September has past because I can now start to feel all festive (yes, I mean I am already feeling Christmassy)
What have your September favourites been?

Smile!

I often think that people who smile always seem the happiest.

for me a smile is something that makes people warm to you. I feel like even when we feel really down a smile from a friendly face can make things better, in a way it makes us feel more confident, which can't be a bad thing!

There is only one problem...
I don't think people smile enough, too many people go around looking solemn. We need to start smiling more, at strangers, at friends, at family and the best thing is about a smile is that it's contagious!

What makes you smile?
If you would like to see more of these types of posts then let me know.

Baby Lips Review (Tinted).

Yes, everyone and their dog seems to have reviewed baby lips but I wanted to share my thoughts and views on them as well.

They claim to be a eight hour moisturising lip balm that will make your lips healthy and baby soft, hence the name. There are 6 different types out in England although I have seen many other cool types in other countries, you lucky things! In the collection there are three tinted (pink punch, peach kiss, cherry me) and three clear lip balms (hydrate, intense care, mint fresh). I own the three tinted balms and they all have their own scent and colour, where as the three clear ones all have different jobs.

Personally I really like these, I find them very moisturising and they feel lovely on the lips. Do they last eight hours? No. Although they do last for a couple. My favourite of the three I own is pink Punch, It has a fruity scent that reminds me of holidays and has a bright pink colour with blue undertones, I find it to be the most pigmented of the three offering a slightly glossy finish. For me cherry me is nice but only slightly reddens my natural lip shade, I'm not keen on its scent as I think it smells quite artificial. Peach kiss smells amazing, I love the smell of peach, It only has a champagne shimmer to It but it looks very natural on its own or pretty under a bright lipgloss.

As for the packaging although maybe looking a little cheap, I really like it, its bright and cheerful and let's face it, you're less likely to lose it in your bag. One thing you can also do is swap around the lids for different colour ways.

All in all I really like them and will eventually get the clear ones and do a review. For £2.99 these are great little lipbalms for throwing in your bag, for putting in your purse or pocket or for natural make up and can be bought easily online or in store. You could even give one or the set as a present!

What is your favourite baby lips, which one should I try out?

Ootd~Kittens and coral

This is currently one of my go to outfits. Its has carried me through the summer and the winter, This shot was taken in August but I am wearing the same today as well. Unfortunately the weather has turned bad, so I have added some woolly tights and a long navy cardigan with the sleeves rolled up to 3/4 length.

Skater skirt: Topshop £18, similar one here
kitty T-shirt: Topshop £16
Lipstick: Mac, Vegas volt, £15

For my hair I just sprayed a little bit of sea salt spray (review coming soon!) and gripped up the front. I just did my normal make up but on my lips I have on Mac- Vegas volt, it is the most beautiful coral colour that goes perfectly with the sky blue/denim element of this outfit.
In this outfit the T-shirt is the main feature, and although it is not something I would normally go for I really love the way It looks, It comes in normal sizes petite and they even do a baby version (how cuuttee!). I wear this just with my black converse and some Topshop frilly socks.

I have been loving Topshop recently, what is you go-to outfit?

Happy Birthday Barney!

This will probably not be of much interest to a lot of you but today is the day that my beautiful chocolate Labrador Barney turns three.

Barney age 3 loves:
Dragging his purple rug around the floor.
CHEESE.
Running along with giant sticks and hitting your ankles.
Trying to win tug rope wars.
Itching his back on the carpet, resulting in hairy carpets.
Tummy rubs.
Tickles behind the ears (this I don't mind, he has very silky ears).
Cuddles.
Food (in any form).
Walkies.

So this is my little birthday post for my baby, Do you have any pets?

The Now Brow.

Yes you probably know what I'm on about, and if you don't where have you been! Cara Delevingne the queen of brows brought this trend round and I decided to join in. Big, bushy and bold all the way. Now I have strong-ish brows, not really bold but not over plucked or thin either. I had never really bothered with my eyebrows before, but recently I have tried and tested and have found the perfect product.
seriously envious of just about everything.... Look at those brows
I have tried pencils but it didn't look natural enough, so when I saw the Maybelline Brow Drama eyebrow gel in dark brown I thought it sounded like a great product. It claims to be "A ultimate fashion finish for brows, with a detailing ball brush, and a no clump, no streak formula." And comes In three shades: Deep blonde, Medium brown, Dark brown so every one can give it a go.

I find this fab for my Already full brows, It adds the perfect amount of subtle colour without looking unnatural. All I do is brush my eyebrows upwards and slightly across, this creates a natural, full look. I have tried this on my grandma who has very fine, barely there brows. It did work but an eyebrow pencil was still needed to fill in gaps.

For £4.99 this won't break the bank and, overall I feel that this is fantastic for brows and I would definitely recommend it. It will look fabulous on people with medium/thick brows and will give you your very own natural Cara brow.

What are your go to brow products?
